CHS using 'high-tech techniques' for IT intrusion detection

2009-07-22

Ryan Trost has been reportedly using state-of-the-art techniques for detecting and preventing IT intrusion incidences and to avoid security breaches in his work at Comprehensive Health Services (CHS).

He has now written the book Practical Intrusion Analysis: Prevention and Detection in the Twenty-First Century, which covers the latest techniques used to spot attacks against companies.

"Security is a top priority at CHS and is a critical consideration in all of our healthcare service offerings," commented Todd Hall, CHS' executive vice president and chief information officer.

He said that Mr Trost's leadership in the area of security "greatly benefits the company by ensuring the privacy" of the firm's data.

In his book, Mr Trost looks into some technologies potent new intrusion detection systems, which could be good news for those companies looking to prevent a data breach.

Randy George, writing for InformationWeek, recently asserted that information losses can prove to be very costly, although data loss protection vendors are continuing to concentrate on regulatory compliance, which could benefit many firms.
