Heartland Payment Systems 'has worked to lessen data breach impact'
2009-08-05
The entire Heartland Payment Systems has worked hard to lessen the impact of the "processing system intrusion" that hit the company, according to the firm's chairman and chief executive officer.
Robert Carr noted that the organisation was able to gain recertification of its PCI compliant status because of the efforts of the IT team.
He said that the company is making investments "to broaden and improve" its product offerings as well as to strengthen its "dedicated sales team and improve the security of [its] infrastructure".
His comments came after the company announced that net revenues in the second quarter of 2009 stood at $106.6 million (£63 million), accounting for a rise of 14.1 per cent.
The company had recorded net revenues of $93.4 million (£55.2 million) in the second quarter of last year.
In June, Heartland Payment Systems chose Voltage Security as a partner to develop end-to-end encryption software for payments processing.
